The Oakland Raiders have arguably been the worst team in the NFL this season as they have just not been able to get anything going this season despite having some impressive performances at times. Inconsistency and JaMarcus Russell have been the main reasons for the Raiders problems this season as they have not been able to play well on a consistent basis and Russell is looking more and more like Ryan Leaf like draft bust with every passing game.

The Kansas City Chiefs have also had their fair share of problems this season despite bringing in a franchise quarterback in Matt Cassel from the New England Patriots in the offseason. Cassel hasn’t played all that bad this season, but his team has not been able to help him out this season and they sit at the bottom of the AFC West this season with a 1-7 record going into week 10 against the arch division rival Oakland Raiders.

Two things have happen this past week for the Chiefs that makes me believe that Matt Cassel is poised for a huge day against the lowly Raiders. One, the Chiefs have said goodbye to their biggest distraction in running back Larry Johnson as they recently released the former Pro Bowl. Two, the Chiefs brought in wide receiver Chris Chambers after the San Diego Chargers released him and as a result in his first game with Kansas City he had 70 yards and two touchdowns quickly getting on the same page as Matt Cassel.

Look for Matt Cassel to have a big day with his new receiver Chris Chambers in their second game together!

Here are some sleepers to watch in week 10:

Roy Williams, Dallas Cowboys

A lot was made of the Roy Williams and Tony Romo feud in Dallas last week as the vocal receiver has shown that he has been unhappy with his progress with Romo, but against the Philadelphia Eagles last week the two connected for 70 yards. Not big numbers, but I expect Williams numbers to go up this week against the Green Bay Packers.

Braylon Edwards, New York Jets

The New York Jets will be going up against the lowly Jacksonville Jaguars this week and I believe Mark Sanchez and Braylon Edwards will have a big day as they try to get a much needed win against the Jags.

There have been a lot of sleepers and waiver wire gems this season like perhaps the best of them all this season in the Cincinnati Bengals running back Cedric Benson, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Sidney Rice and New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas.

If you have any of the three players I mentioned above then you have probably had some success this season on your fantasy squad. Benson has quickly turned into one of the best running backs in the league, Rice has become Brett Favre’s favorite target in Minnesota and Thomas is the go to guy in redzone situations for New Orleans who are just lighting up the scoreboards this season.

Unfortunately, all three of these players are most likely taken and only available through a trade, but I doubt you will find anyone owner willing to trade any of these guys because they continue to produce double digit fantasy points on a consistent basis.

Here are the players to consider adding to your fantasy squad before week 10:

Ryan Moats, Houston Texans

In week eight Moats had a career day with three touchdowns and over 120 all purpose yards. It is possible that the other teams in your league have already picked up Moats, but if they were skeptical like I was then they waited to see what he would do in week nine. Moats didn’t fail to disappoint as he had a receiving touchdown and over 40 all purpose yards. Not crazy numbers like the previous week, but Moats will most likely become a major part of the Texans offense from now on.

Josh Freeman, Tampa Bay Bucs

I have always been skeptical about backup quarterbacks in the middle of the season, but Josh Freeman could be the real deal for the Bucs to finish the season. The Bucs were expected to get destroyed by Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers this week, but Freeman was able to lead the Bucs to victory with his 205 yards and three touchdowns.

Chris Chambers, Kansas City Chiefs

The Kansas City Chiefs might not be a you would think of in terms of a worthy fantasy players, but with the addition of wide receiver Chris Chambers into the mix in Kansas City the Chiefs might surprise people this season. The San Diego Chargers gave him the boot and the Kansas City Chiefs swooped him up without a second thought and it really paid off in week nine as Matt Cassel connected with Chambers twice for touchdowns and 70 yards. This might be a fluke, but Cassel has been looking for another target to compliment Dwyane Bowe all season long and he just might have found it in Chambers. If you need a wide receiver you can’t go wrong with giving Chambers a shot!

Last week we finally saw some top fantasy prospects have a break out game and live up to the hype they were given before week one. Aaron Rodgers was finally able to put up big numbers with 27 points in week three after throwing for 296 yards, two touchdowns and a rushing touchdown. Not bad, I hope he can keep it up against the Minnesota Vikings this week, but I seriously doubt it against that defense.

Another fantasy to finally get some solid points was Maurice Jones-Drew who was picked in the first three picks or so in a lot of fantasy leagues this season. Personally, I stay away from this guy because he team is a mess, but week three he was the man rushing for 119 yards and three touchdowns giving fantasy owners 31 points in return.

Now on to week four Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em where are there are definitely some interesting match ups:

Start ‘Em

Quarterbacks

Brett Favre, Minnesota Vikings

Call me crazy, but I believe Favre will be on fire this weekend against his old team! The Packers defense is good, but no one knows that team better than Brett Favre so I think he is must start this week. Favre is projected to get 10 points this week, but I have a feeling it will be closer to 20!

Running Backs

Cedric Benson, Cincinnati Bengals

This all depends on his health, but if he is healthy I think Benson will have a career day against the Cleveland Browns who are absolutely terrible at stopping the run this season. Benson is projected to get 25 points this week against the Browns. Keep tabs on this status before you submit your roster for week 4.

Darren McFadden, Oakland Raiders

Yes, I said Darren McFadden. Believe it or not this guy will have a breakout year this season and this game against the Houston Texans will be the game in which he will show everyone what he can do! McFadden is projected to get 18 points this week against Houston.

Wide Receivers

Devin Hester, Chicago Bears

Hester is slowly, but surely becoming Jay Cutler’s favorite target in Chicago and this week against the Detroit Lions I think we will see these two hook up all day long. Hester is projected to get 12 points this week, but I think it will be more like 20.

Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers

Jackson has been arguably one of the best, if not the best fantasy wide receiver this season as he continues to improve his numbers every week. This week the Chargers take on the Pittsburgh Steelers who have struggled on defense so far without Troy Polamalu, look for Phillip Rivers to take advantage of that by going down field to Jackson more often. Jackson is projected to get 17 points this week.

Tight Ends

Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts

You just can’t go wrong with starting Clark this season as he has arguably been the best tight end out there! Manning seems more and more comfortable tossing it to Clark these days and fantasy owners are loving it! Clark is projected to get 15 points this week against the Seattle Seahawks.

Kickers

Mason Crosby, Green Bay Packers

I believe the Packers are going to be resorted to kicking a lot of field goals against the tough Minnesota Vikings defense this week. In that case I think Crosby is a must start.

Defense

Cincinnati Bengals

Believe it or not, the Bengals defense is one defense this week that could have a huge day since they are playing against the lowly Cleveland Browns. Cincinnati is projected to get 10 points.

Sit ‘Em

Quarterbacks

Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

He might be pumped up to play this game against his old teammate and mentor Brett Favre on Monday night, but the Minnesota Vikings defense is one of the best in the league and will be looking to put him on the ground all night long!

Runningbacks

Marshawn Lynch, Buffalo Bills

If you picked this guy up in the draft with a late pick or just picked up in free agency anticipating his return in week 4 then you might have made a mistake as Fred Jackson has quickly turned into one of the most consistent backs in the league and the Bills will not be looking to ruin that by putting Lynch. He will get some carries, but not nearly enough to merit a start.

Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints

This is another guy I would never pick in the draft as he has been extremely inconsistent over the years. Yeah, he might have had a good week in week three, but that will drastically change this week when the Saints take on the New York Jets and their lockdown defense.

Wide Receivers

T.J. Housmanzadeh, Seattle Seahawks

Personally, I would either try and trade this guy or just drop him. Even I wanted to pick him in my draft, but now I am thankful that I didn’t as he has been a fantasy dud so far and I really don’t expect that to change anytime soon.

Bernard Berrian, Minnesota Vikings

Talk about a fantasy dud! This guy has done absolutely nothing so far and since the Vikings are winning I don’t expect them to include him anymore than they have to. If you have Percy Harvin, start him instead, a lot more fantasy appeal than Berrian.

Tight Ends

Anthony Fasano, Miami Dolphins

With Chad Pennington out expect to see a lot of changes offensively in Miami as the Wildcat might just be their bread and butter for the rest of the season. This could change for the better for Fasano is Chad Henne starts some chemistry with Fasano, but in this week don’t take the risk and sit him and see what happens.

Kickers

Phil Dawson, Cleveland Browns

This guy is on the Browns. Need I say more?

Defense

New York Jets

I know they are one of the best defense in the league right now, but they are going up against the best offense and Drew Brees will almost certainly light up the scoreboard and deduct points away from the Jets D.

It has only been two weeks into this NFL season and we have already seen some surprises in fantasy football. A few duds and a few studs have emerged in just two short weeks of this football season.

Some of the fantasy studs were to be expected like the Minnesota Vikings Adrian Peterson who was picked first in most fantasy leagues and the New Orleans Saints Drew Brees who seems to be on his way into the record books this season for both passing yards and most importantly touchdowns. You can’t really miss with either one of these guys so they are a must start every single week.

Then you have the fantasy duds like Tom Brady who hasn’t been able to get the New England Patriots offense on track just yet, don’t count him out this early, but make sure you have a good backup quarterback in case Brady can’t get back to throwing multiple touchdowns each wee.

Fantasy Studs

Quarterback:

Drew Brees, New Orleans Saints

No quarterback has been better so far or for the rest of this season then Brees. This guy will be breaking offensive records left and right by the end of the season. If you have Brees as your starter you are almost guaranteed to get 25 to 35 points a week out of him.

Other notable QBs: Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens; Trent Edwards, Buffalo Bills; Matt Ryan, Atlanta Falcons

Running Back:

Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings

AP was picked first in most people’s fantasy leagues and he hasn’t disappointed so far, especially in week one when he ran for 180 yards and three touchdowns. Unless he is injured, you can’t miss with Adrian “All Day” Peterson!

Other notable RBs: Frank Gore, San Francisco 49ers; Fred Jackson, Buffalo Bills; Chris Johnson, Tennessee Titans

Wide Receiver:

Mario Manningham, New York Giants

Who? Yep, I said the same thing, but it looks like Eli Manning may have found his replacement for jailbird Plaxico Burress. I get the feeling Steve Smith will turn into the go to guy for Manning in the near future, but you can’t go wrong with Manningham who has ranked up 32 points in two weeks thus far. If you are lucky, you might be able to pick him up as a free agent.

Other notable WRs: Vincent Jackson, San Diego Chargers; Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints; Andre Johnson, Houston Texans

Tight End:

Tony Gonzalez, Atlanta Falcons

Dallas Clark has bested Gonzalez by one fantasy point up to the beginning of week three, but that is only because his huge day against the Miami Dolphins which most likely won’t happen twice. Gonzalez on the other hand has quickly become one of Matt Ryan’s favorite targets next to Roddy White. If you took a chance on Gonzalez in the draft instead of picking Gates, Clark or Winslow then made the right choice as it will pay off all season long.

Other notable TEs: Dallas Clark, Indianapolis Colts; John Carlson, Seattle Seahawks; Kellen Winslow Jr, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Kicker:

Lawrence Tynes, New York Giants

The kicker is pretty much the most insignificant positions on your fantasy football team roster, but the points some of these kickers can produce can be the difference between winning and losing. Tynes is the stud kicker so far this season as he has racked up 26 points already in just two weeks which is what some teams have been getting from decent quarterbacks this season.

Other notable kickers: Rian Lindell, Buffalo Bills; Joe Nedney, San Francisco 49ers; Nate Kaeding, San Diego Chargers

Defense:

Philadelphia Eagles

Much like the kicker, your defense usually doesn’t get much attention because there are so many bad defenses and so few elite. So unless you have the Baltimore Ravens or Pittsburgh Steelers D then usually most players don’t care, but you will notice that defenses in the fantasy game go up and down on a weekly basis. So far, Philly’s D is the best with 31 points in two weeks, but you can work the free agent list every week if your defense isn’t what you expected.

Other notable defenses: Denver Broncos, Arizona Cardinals, New York Giants

Fantasy Duds

Quarterback:

Tom Brady, New England Patriots

Last season Brady was picked first by a lot of people, including myself, well, we all got burnt as he went down hard in the first game. This season, he is healthy, but he is struggling and is no longer a must start. Be wise and get yourself a good backup like Joe Flacco or Mark Sanchez on your free agent list.

Running Back:

LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers

Basically, in my opinion, LT is done a prime time back in this league. Darren Sproles is the new best back in San Diego and LT will slowly, but surely drop off the map this season. Trade him now or pick up Sproles if he is still available in your league.

Wide Receiver:

Steve Smith, Carolina Panthers

Even though Smith could easily get back to elite status during the season, it will not happen unless Jake Delhomme goes to the bench in favor of another quarterback. So as long a Delhomme is behind center look to trade Smith or pick up a free agent receiver like Mario Manningham.

Tight End:

Bo Scaife, Tennessee Titans

Last season Scaife was the receptions leader and favorite target of quarterback Kerry Collins, but this year he is struggling with an injury and should be dropped immediately in favor of other TEs having good seasons that might still be available like Dustin Keller and Todd Heap.

Kicker:

Work the free agent list as there is always a kicker that slips through the cracks and has an unexpected good season like Joe Nedney.

Defense:

Chicago Bears

Usually the Bears are right near the top in the defensive category, but this year their defense is going to struggle without Brian Urlacher at linebacker. Drop them and pick up another like San Francisco who is having a promising season.

Welcome to Fantasy Football Fever (FFF), on this site I will be giving weekly tips and tricks to help you build and maintain the best fantasy football team possible for the upcoming 2009-2010 NFL season!

Every single year in fantasy football things are different in terms of rankings and players that can hurt and or help your fantasy squad. A few years ago the San Diego Chargers LaDainian Tomlinson was by far the top running back in the NFL and was the unanimous first pick in most people’s fantasy drafts, but one a couple of seasons later LT could quite possibly slip to the second round of your draft.

With an ever changing game like Fantasy Football, you have to be on your toes every week by being on top of who is injured, who is starting and who is on fire in order to get the right players on your squad starting every week and getting on your way to being the next Fantasy Football champion in your league.

Here at Fantasy Football Fever will have up to date injury reports, sleepers, start’em and sit’em posts for the upcoming week so you won’t get caught slippin’!

So check us out on a weekly basis for the latest updates!
